Black & White

 Top: thrifted ($0.33)
Skirt: Vera by Vera Wang, given (free)
 Leggings: free
Scarf: F21 ($3)
Jacket: Target ($24)
Boots: Bandolino ($98)

Finally splurged on a good pair of boots. I had ordered a pair from Gilt last month, only to have received something in the mail that looked nothing like what I saw online. So I gave it up until I tried again over the holidays, and found these on Amazon for $98. Hopefully they'll last! They're a nice cognac leather and I actually like the design, no excessive buckles or zippers--just a good classic riding boot. Just what I was looking for. :)

Reunited

It's been a while since my last Goodwill haul! I went this weekend and found some pretty good stuff.

The numbers are the prices, and the ones that are asterisked are going to altered or adjusted.

This was a pretty good haul! I'm especially excited about the black sparkly dress. The striped Gap cashmere blend sweater was a solid find as well, and I think we've been over how much I love peacoats and trench coats...

The middle item in the top row is a red velvet skirt. I'm hoping to make it look a little more like this, rather than it's current state:

One thing I failed to find and have never been able to find at a thrift store is a good flannel shirt. It's driving me crazy. So that's my goal this month, to thrift a good, classic flannel button down. We'll see how that goes.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve!

Coral Love

I bought a new necklace over Black Friday weekend. Only thing I purchased that was actually relevant to the weekend's sales. I've been seeing these statement necklaces all over the internet, but typically for around $20. I got this one for $10, and I think it was a pretty good value for that price!

Dress: American Eagle, thrifted ($3.50)
Cardigan: Target, thrifted ($3.50)
Shoes: Smashion.com ($10)
Necklace: Groopdealz.com ($10)

I also have really glittery nails right now. Moment of weakness/procrastination during this insanely busy week. Save me.

Sorry for the inconsistency in my posting this past week or so, I promise that my outfits have mainly consisted of me waking up late and running out the door with whatever I just happen to find. You're not missing much. :)

But I've been baking up a storm, so I'll share some holiday goodness soon!
And I know, I really shouldn't be baking, I'm so bad about time management.

New Things

Oh Friday. How I love you so.
This week has been crazy, so thank you guys for hanging in there and being patient with me!
I've got some pretty cool things to show you soon, like the plane-shaped cookie I made last night. It's pretty fantastic, you'll see.
But for today we'll stick with a good old outfit post. :)

Top: thrifted, DIY ($0.27)
Cardigan: Merona, thrifted ($3.50)
Pants: Rugged Wearhouse ($17)
Shoes: Target, $6

I got these fantastic polka dot pants last weekend. They were actually a bit of a splurge, at $17. Of course, I use the term "splurge" in a relative perspective, compared to my typical budget, not the typical retail price for jeans. But I think they were worth the price. :)

Did I mention they're reversible? They're reversible. Which is a little bit weird, but also pretty cool. The other side is just plain dark wash navy. I told myself I was technically buying two pairs of pants for $17.

The shoes are also new! Got them on clearance at Target for a little less than $6. I love the color, and they're suede. Classy.

Findings from the Weekend

I've been MIA for days, sorry about that! End of semester craze is starting to set in.

Hope you all had a great break, anyone get good deals this weekend? I bought a few things on Friday, but they weren't actually part of the Black Friday sale, I just happened to run across them in the clearance racks.

Target, $7

Old Navy, $9.99

Target, $24.98
Be back soon with more!

Riding Boots

Okay, I gave in.

I've been looking to invest in a good pair of boots for a while now...and Gilt is having a flash sale today on riding style boots. So I may or may not have purchased a pair for $147.
They better be worth it.

If you're looking for a good pair of leather boots for the fall too, you might want to take a look! I got free shipping as a new member, and the pair I ordered were originally $300...
I talked myself into it essentially by convincing myself that they were Frye quality boots for half the price. I'll let know what I think when I receive them!

These are the ones I ordered...thoughts?

Also, happy election day! If you haven't gone to vote yet, PLEASE GO VOTE. I cannot stress enough how important I think it is for people to go out there and exercise their rights. Don't let your voice go to waste, not today. Go go go. :)

Costume Hunting Failure

I went to Goodwill with some friends last weekend to find things for Halloween.
I'm somehow not surprised by the fact that I came home with no Halloween items and just a bunch of nice clothes...

Vintage Diamond Print Dress, $4

Target Maxi Skirt, $3.50

Anthropologie Crepe Top, $3.50

Vintage Polka Dot Dress, $4

Target Print Top, $3.50

Print Gathered Front Dress, $4

NWT Old Navy Brocade Pencil Skirt, $3.50
I bought the long polka dot dress to alter, mainly because I'm sort of obsessed with navy polka dot prints. We'll see how that goes.

Also, along the lines of my failure to actually get anything Halloween related, I still have no idea what to be. Any ideas? What are you dressing up as?

Have a wonderful Friday!

Rummage Store Haul

I found a new thrift store two weekends ago here at school, and went back again last weekend because I only had ten minutes to explore the first time. I'm really excited to show you guys what I got in those two trips!

Strapless floral dress, $6

Watercolor dress, $8

Old Navy shirt dress, $6

Black dress with mesh upper and sweetheart neckline, $8

CrewCuts (J.Crew Kids) dress, $6

Love21 Skirt, $6

J.Crew shorts, $3

Leather belt, $1

Banana Republic leather pumps, $8

Vintage loafers, $6. Seriously the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

The prices were a little higher than what I'm used to, considering how I tend to get dresses for $4 at Goodwill. Though the J.Crew shorts for $3 was a pretty good steal! But for future reference, I should probably refrain from going there too often, considering the price range. It's dangerous for someone who has very little self control and a very good knack for finding nice things. :)

Happy Friday!

Pretty Things

Two weeks ago I received an email informing me that I had won a giveaway for $40 to spend at InPink, an online jewelry store. I managed to score $60 worth of jewelry, between the gift card, free shipping for orders valuing over $49, and a discount code that took $20 off my order. Here's what I ordered:

They arrived last week in this cute little box:

I can't wait to actually wear these. :) But considering how I'm spending this entire weekend moving boxes, probably not the best time to debut my new jewelry...

Lots of Stripes

Sorry for disappearing for the past few days! I've been super busy with life and doing a bunch of DIY projects. I've been enlisted to help decorate two nurseries and also had a couple more personal projects to get out of the way, so I've been churning those out like crazy! I can't wait to share a super cool wooden box makeover I did, but today I'll leave you with a Goodwill haul post that I've been rather delayed about posting...

This was a huge haul, with items from Old Navy, Forever 21, Loft, Gap, Delia's, VS Pink, and Urban Outfitters.

I'm especially excited about the mint colored chinos. I've got some more pant alterations to do. :)

Oh, I almost forgot! Everything in this haul cost me $3.50, because I was at the store around closing time and they were in a rush and just counted everything as one unit price. Usually dresses and coats cost more, so that was a wonderful surprise.
