Sand Art

Oh Monday. You're definitely not my favorite day of the week. 

I was out of town this weekend, so thanks for your patience while I disappeared for a few days! I'm sharing this photo because today has been a day of scrambling to catch up and make deadlines, so I haven't had time to get an outfit post together. But I made this sand sculpture this weekend, with lots of help from friends. Does this count as a DIY?

By the way, if you can't tell, it's a hermit crab in an anchor-shaped moat.

Charleston

You all may recall that I took a little vacation a few weeks ago. I went to Charleston, SC, which is simply the most gorgeous place ever. I sort of fell in love. I also have outfits posts from said trip, as well as other photos to share.

Shrimp Kabobs

Made these the other day, and if you like shrimp, you need to try this out! Super easy and absolutely fantastic, plus they just scream summertime, don't they? 

I simply peeled some raw shrimp, stuck them inside of a ziploc bag with some honey mustard dressing and a bit of black pepper, mixed it all up, and stuck it in the fridge for a few hours.

After letting it marinade, you just grab some vegetables (squash, onions, and bell peppers work really well) and wooden skewers and put it all together! You can fire up the grill and cook them, or be lazy like me and just stick them in the broiler for a few minutes, because that will do the trick as well.

Different dressings will work as well, I know Italian is a popular one. And if you're not a fan of seafood, this works well for chicken too!

Also, I went to the farmer's market this weekend, possibly one of my favorite things in the world. I'm not even going to try to verbally explain. Just look at the pictures. 

I love summer.

Baltimore Part 2

I spent one of the days of my trip in Old Ellicott City, not too far from Baltimore city. The place looks like a real-life toy village, and pretty much consists of vintage stores, antique shops, cute clothing boutiques, and small eateries. Absolutely adorable.

If you ever are in the Baltimore area, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Road Trip

I apologize for disappearing for a whole week, I forgot to mention that I was going on a trip! I visited Baltimore for a few days, and to make up for my absence, I've got some lovely photos to share in the next few posts.

These stores were in the Fells Point district down by the harbor, which is just an adorable place.
